2022 Countdown: #40 – #34
Music Mondays are back!!
Last year I attempted to go through my top 100 songs but couldn’t rank anything past 25 because I’m too indecisive. This year, I decided to challenge myself and managed to do ‘Vivian’s Top 40’ (imagine Casey Kasem saying this).
So here are my favorite songs that came out in 2022*. Unfortunately, in the end, SUPER TUNA did not make the cut. Although that’s mostly because I couldn’t stream it on most of my devices. Still linking it here for good measure.
If you check out the youtube links (the green text), be sure to turn CCs on if available, especially if lyrics are important to you. They’re important to me. Also youtube seems to default to the lowest quality setting. I used to be able to change that but it seems they took the setting away in preferences. I suggest upping the quality to the maximum, too.
*Songs released Dec 1 2021 through Nov 30 2022.
#40 LOCO & HWASA – SOMEBODY! “All day I wish you to be OK.”
It’s a nice song and the repetition of wishing someone to be ok lifts my spirits.
#39 APINK – DILEMMA “I’m more delicate than you think.”
It’s catchy, I love Jung Eun-Ji’s voice on the chorus, and I find myself singing along.
#38 CHANG KIHA – ENVY NONE “Do you think you have a lot of things? Or do you think I have more things? Well, I don’t really know.”
This fun little song is addictive in its own way. I’m quite jealous most times, but not usually over material things.
#37 PSY – THAT THAT (PROD. & FEAT. SUGA of BTS) “Min Yoongi and Park Jae-Sang. Can you feel it?”
I can feel it. And that, that I like that.
#36 THE 8 – HAI CHENG “Listening to the waves crashing onto the rocks … at times too careless, at times too careful.”
Beautiful, poetic, thoughtful.
#35 TOMORROW X TOGETHER – OPENING SEQUENCE “Countless memories fade and dissolve. Someone stop this opening sequence. No, it’s running through my head.”
The repetitiveness works for me in this dramatic scene.
#34 J-HOPE – MORE “Watch out everyone, I’m reckless.”
Reckless, but not. And enough, but not enough. I still want more.
Next week, #33 – #27.
