still writing …
I’ve been too tired lately to try and keep up with everything but I keep writing, plugging away at one story or another every night. Sometimes it’s editing, sometimes writing, sometimes just planning or plotting or snowflaking or character building. I feel like I got something accomplished tonight writing-wise though.
While I think my first (subject to change again) book is getting closer to done, I think I may still be missing a couple of scenes that I need to add. An introductory scene to one character, another romantic scene between the couple, and maybe one more scene but I’m not sure about it.
But since none of those scenes are speaking to me, at least not clamoring at me, I’ve started working on the second book. This is based off a very short, too-quickly paced story I wrote a while back. I’ve been spacing things out more, adding more scenes, getting to know the characters unique to this book better. I have a long way to go, but I think it’s heading in the right direction.
Tonight’s writing, if I work backwards and try to fit it to some sort of writing exercise or prompt, was about putting one of the main characters in a setting that should have been familiar but was completely foreign, having them feel totally out of their element in a place they thought they would feel at home.
That’s it for tonight. I’m yawning like crazy, and tomorrow seems like it’ll be another crazy busy day at work so I should try to get some rest.
Wishing you all good health, safety, and happiness.
